It at least keeps things interesting. That's why a desk job was never gonna cut it for me. So I make my own fun. [ they turn a corner, and there stands a rather large art museum. Quinn smirks up at it. ] And when I'm lucky, I get paid for it.
[And just like that, Faith is back on board. Mostly because she can relate to the general tone of his phrasing and honestly, she's come this far already. She can't back out now.]
Interesting is just the start of how I keep things. [She glances to the building.] Who's paying you for the fun tonight?
Some boring foreign dignitary or other. I don't bother to learn their names.
[ he stops at the base of the steps, shoving his hands in his pockets and looking back at her ] Like any good two man operation, one person runs a distraction, the other gets the goods.
It's a painting. Which isn't exactly the easiest thing to move around during hours but you leave that to me. [ and presumably, his psionic powers. ] But the guards and other guests need to clear the area a bit. I usually just set some part of the exhibit hall on fire, honestly. You'd be surprised how fast people clear out.
Alright... [She's pretty sure she'd like to avoid arson, despite her fondness for fire. Though, her only really easy option to make is to just make a scene. Somehow.]
Fire might be easier for you to start. [She gives him a pointed glance.] I can roll with it, though. [Please, she'll just pick up one of the nearby benches... or fake a gas leak. Actually, that's not a bad plan.]
Where's your painting at? [So she can get in, get to the spot, then start the distraction.]
Alright. [She shrugs and makes her way into the museum and toward the gallery he mentioned. She glances around and then moves one gallery over. She makes sure that where she's standing doesn't have a line of sight into the other gallery and then proceeds to strip her jacket off and toss it to the ground.
Now, her original plan had been to strip down, making accusations about the art and the models they used, but she sees the crowd here and she figures that the whole being a knight thing doesn't involve... public nudity. So instead, she just starts to tug at the collar of her shirt.]
It's hot... do you feel hot? [She asks someone beside her.] I think I smell something, too. [Her words are murmured to herself, but she's getting a bit louder.] I think that's gas... I smell gas -- right?
[She gets the attention of someone, she hopes, and her bluff check hits up at 27, so hopefully someone is buying this...]
I really think there's a gas leak... I mean, are the -- are the paintings all supposed to go all whoosh like that? [Her hand goes to the wall, almost too close for comfort to a frame of a painting - that might get security over to help her out.]
[ people kind of look at her skeptically at first, but eventually it becomes clear that more than one person is getting very concerned, both for her and for themselves.
the security guards nearby definitely come rushing to her aid, grabbing either arm to help her steady her.
"Whoa, whoa, miss. Are you sure it's not some kind of.... of medical condition?" ]
[Their efforts are expected, but she tries to shrug them off (strength 28) hoping that she'll rope more of them into helping her out. The bigger scene she makes here, the less people stick around in the other gallery.]
You don't smell that? Someone has to smell that... it's gas. There's gotta be a leak somewhere. [She points up to the air vents.] Maybe it's coming from outside! Someone has to do something. [She reaches for someone nearby.] You smell it, right?
[ they may be strong, but they can't hold onto a slayer. her ruse works, more guards abandoning their posts to come that way, as people crane their necks to see what's going on, and start whispering among themselves more fiercely.
the person looks up and sniffs, and looks like they doubt their own senses, voice trembling as they say: "I... I think so!"
a few people gasp and then some start herding their children out of there as the guards look confounded. "Ma'am, I don't think--"
in the background, a smirking quinn walks past the door, and slips into the other gallery. ]
[Faith keeps it up, nodding when someone actually agrees with her.]
It can't be safe! [She moves further into the room, closer to the vents, but away from the entryway.] We could all get poisoning! [She doesn't know... that sounds right at least.]
[ the security guards finally decide they'd rather not get fired if she's right and start calling for a full evacuation, trying to herd people safety towards the emergency exit.
"We'll call you an ambulance, ma'am. They should check on you before you go anywhere..." ]
[ everyone picks up on the cue, and starts thanking them profusely, which only serves to make it harder for them to do their job and add to the confusion.
to make matters even worse, smoke starts coming out of the vents, and then people FREAK and start running like crazies towards the door ]
[Looks like someone couldn't resist a bit of arson....
Either way, Faith stops playing the damsel long enough to start trying to help people get out of the building. She's strong enough to push ahead of them, but then starts ushering them out the door in a more single-file format. It's easier for her to pull people apart when they start getting jammed up in the doors.]
Look - everyone can get out if you just go through the door nicely. [Diplomacy check (if it's needed) goes to a 17, so maybe she can manage the crowd a bit more peacefully.]
[ she manages to calm the crowd, except for one relentlessly crying baby, which is irritating but not problematic. everyone makes it outside, and emergency vehicles start to pull up, as evacuees gather across the street, staring back at the building. the owner of the gallery himself comes out to ask what in the world is going on, and as the guards explain to him, he's accosted on several sides by people demanding refunds. ]
[Faith eyes the crowd and she knows someone wanted her to check in with the ambulance, so she makes her way toward the EMT services. She's still keeping an eye on things and they check her out and naturally everything is fine... (hopefully) because then in a choice made on a whim, she opts to try and just duck out of that scene completely with an escape artist skill of 24 {18+6} it shouldn't be a problem! (hopefully...)]
[ she makes it away without anyone even giving her a second glance, actually. she's about two blocks off when quinn swings out next to her on the sidewalk, hands stuffed in his pockets, grinning. ]
You're not gonna try to tell me now that that was your first time doin' something like that, are ye?
Something of that specific nature? [She smirks at him.] I'm a good liar, that's all.
[She's a long way off from the girl that thought she could have it all as easily as the Mayor could hand it to her, but she never forgot those lessons either. Even if she's pretty sure she just aided a criminal... oops, she's gotta say that it was a lot more interesting than beating up someone at a bar for getting too grabby with her.]

[faith shrugs, glancing around.]
Sometimes that's what it's gonna take.

I think I can handle a little distraction.
[Of course, she needs to know who she's distracting...]
Where's the target? [aka: let her in on the plan.]
